
107.9 THE MIX THOUSAND DOLLAR MINUTE CONTEST RULES
These rules apply to the WFMX Thousand Dollar Minute Contest (“Contest”) conducted by 107.9 The Mix (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at mixmaine.com apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.
1.) HOW TO ENTER:
a. The Contest will begin on January 3, 2022 and will end on December 31, 2022.
b. First, entrants must call 207-622-1079 when announcement airs opening the contest, approximately 7am-8am weekdays. Next, hosts, at their sole discretion, may elect to screen callers for based on responses to sample questions, phone audio quality or other factors.
c. Contestants may also apply via mixmaine.com/1k. Hosts may try to call potential contestants between 7am-8am, Monday-Friday. If call is unanswered, that entry may be disqualified.
During the Game, the contestant must answer ten (10) trivia questions within sixty (60) seconds. Time starts when the audio timer starts following the first question. If the contestant answers all ten (10) questions correctly within the allotted time (60 seconds) he/she will win a Prize, upon confirmation of eligibility. If at any time during the Game the contestant incorrectly answers a question, he/she will lose the Game and will not be eligible to win a Prize. If the contestant doesn’t know the answer when prompted, he/she can “pass” and re-visit if time allows. If the correct answer is given to a passed question within the 60 seconds, it will be accepted. If a contestant does not win the Game, then only a consolation prize may be awarded, i.e., gift card or $10 cash prize per correct answer. The Contest will not air on Station during Morning Show vacations and on federal holidays as announced on-air as announced on-air and posted at www.mixmaine.com.
e. There may be up to a total of one (1) winner selected each weekday in the Contest.
2.) ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
a. This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal US residents and reside in Maine, except where prohibited by law. Winners must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility.
3.) PRIZES
a. Up to one (1) Prize may be awarded each weekday in the Contest. Each Prize consists of one thousand dollars ($1,000) awarded as a check from Mix Maine Media made payable to the order of the prize winner. Checks will be processed and mailed within six weeks. Prize may be awarded in the form of a gift card in lieu of a company check as determined in the sole discretion of the Station and as announced on-air during the Contest. No substitutions will be permitted. The gift card will be subject to the terms and conditions as set forth by the issuer of the gift card. Gift cards are not refundable or transferable and may not be substituted or exchanged for cash or credit at any time, nor will gift cards be replaced if lost or stolen. Approximate Retail Value of each Prize is $1,000.
b. A consolation prize may be awarded at the sole discretion of the Station if the contestant does not answer all 10 questions correctly in 60 seconds. Consolation prize information, if any, will be announced by the show hosts.
c. Prizes or prize certificates must be claimed at the office of the Station located at 12 Shuman Ave., Augusta, ME, #11-12, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours. Prize or prize certificate must be claimed within thirty (30) days of contact by Station. Failure to claim Prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. It is the winner’s sole responsibility to claim the Prize or prize certificate within the timeline provided in these Official Rules.
4.) SELECTION OF WINNERS
a. Up to one (1) winner may be selected per weekday as described above in Section 1 of these Official Rules. Contestants will be notified of winning at the conclusion of the Game.
b. Odds of being selected as a Contestant depend on the number of eligible entries received at the time of each random drawing.
