The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety has teamed up with law enforcement agencies throughout the state to help raise awareness and focus efforts on distracted driving enforcement.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness month.

Officials remind Mainers to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Whether it’s texting, eating, or adjusting the radio, distractions can lead to devastating consequences.

Distracted Driving Awareness

Did you know looking at your phone 👀 while driving – even for a few seconds – can distract you even after you turn your attention back to the road? And did you know that it can last for up to 27 SECONDS?? At 25 mph, you could travel the length of nearly three football fields in that time. Now think about how far you might go at highway speeds – totally distracted from driving. A lot can happen in that time. Don't let your phone be a backseat driver – put it away and enjoy the drive. https://bit.ly/3TR4fii
