Bangor police officers teamed up with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to arrest a 22-year-old man wanted on an active warrant who was found in possession of a firearm and a significant amount of narcotics.
On Tuesday, June 2, Officer Nathaniel Alvarado was patrolling the Essex Street area, known for high levels of drug activity, when he spotted a vehicle and recognized one of the passengers as Christopher Reynolds Jr. of Exeter.
Dispatch confirmed Reynolds had an active warrant and was known to be armed.D ue to the potential threat, Officer Alvarado called for backup before approaching. Reynolds was taken into custody without incident.
A search of Reynolds and his belongings yielded a large quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia, cash, and a firearm.
Reynolds was arrested on the existing warrant and charged with the following new offenses:
- Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs (Class A)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Class B)
The investigation remains active.
