Auburn Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

The Auburn Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Court Street for a motor vehicle violation. The operator could not produce an identification or a driver’s license.

Through DMV records, the subject was identified as 26-year-old Khamis Aden Bare of Auburn.

As a result of further investigation, Bare was found in possession of a concealed loaded firearm as well as oxycodone, codeine pills, a digital scale, and $3,223 in cash.

According to the Auburn PD, because the narcotics in Bare’s possession were not prescribed to him. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor drug possession charges and illegal possession of a firearm.

Maine State law and federal law prohibits those who are unlawful users or addicted to controlled substances from possessing or owning firearms.

Bare was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail where bail was set at $500 cash.
