Saturday evening, June 17, Maine State Troopers responded to the report of a head on crash at mile marker 112 southbound in Augusta.
From the Maine State Police:
Upon arrival, it was discovered that 45-year-old Sarah Lincoln of Winthrop had entered the interstate the wrong way and struck a vehicle driven by 18-year old Julia Kronstrand of Litchfield. Both drivers were transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta. Kronstrand with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Lincoln had minor injuries. Preliminary investigation shows Sarah Lincoln was suspected of driving under the influence. The crash remains under investigation. The Augusta Fire Department and Augusta Police Department assisted on scene.
