Justin Grover, 38, of Bangor, has been arrested on a charge of Elevated Aggravated Assault in connection with the June 15 shooting of a homeless man on Talbot Trail.
According to the Bangor Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call just after 11:30 p.m. on June 15. The victim, a homeless individual, reported being shot multiple times during an unprovoked encounter with an unknown male on Talbot Trail along Stillwater Avenue.
Detectives from the Bangor Police Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into the incident. On June 17, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Stillwater Avenue, where Grover was arrested and charged with the felony offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. He was initially bailed from the Penobscot County Jail with conditions.
Following further investigation, a warrant was issued on June 25, charging Grover with Elevated Aggravated Assault in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody on the warrant and booked into the Penobscot County Jail, where he is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released additional information at this time.
