Bridge Collapses Over Stillwater River in Old Town [VIDEO]

Three people were injured Thursday when part of the new Llewellyn Estes Bridge in Old Town collapsed into the Stillwater River.

The Maine Department of Transportation said the collapse happened shortly after 2 p.m. as a construction crew was pouring concrete for the bridge deck.

The bridge was already closed to traffic because of the ongoing construction, so no drivers were affected.

Old Town Police Chief David White said the three injured workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Photos released by Milford Fire and Rescue show the extent of the collapse.
