30-year-old Jamie Perry has been arrested for arson in connection with a multi-unit apartment building fire on Roderick Road in Clinton.

From Maine State Police:

On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at approximately 9:30pm, the Clinton Fire and Police Departments responded to a fire at a muti-unit apartment building at 12 Roderick Road in Clinton. The fire was contained but caused moderate damage to a single apartment in the building. Tenants in the building at the time were able to get out of the building safely. They were also able to re-enter their apartments after the fire was extinguished. The Fire Marshal’s office was requested to respond. The investigation determined the fire originated in and on a kitchen stove in the apartment where the damage occurred and that the fire was intentionally set. Investigators established that the fire was started by 30-year-old Jamie Perry who is currently living in the apartment in question. Perry was arrested for Arson and transported to the Kennebec County Jail. No one was injured in the fire and there were working smoke detectors in the building. Also assisting on scene was the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
