According to the Augusta Police Department Facebook page, a building on Water Street that is under renovation, will require some closures of Water Street this week.
Starting at 6:00 PM on Tuesday September 19, Water Street will be closed in between Bridge Street and Commercial Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Commercial Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured on Bridge Street to State Street to Bond Street. Water Street will be back open by 6:00 AM on Wednesday. The contractor will also be closing the southbound lane of Water Street for two additional days this week between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM where northbound traffic will remain open and southbound traffic will follow Commercial Street as a detour.
