Authorities are investigating after an apparent suicide attempt Wednesday afternoon at a shooting range and gun shop in Gray.
Emergency crews responded to Howell’s Indoor Range & Gunshop on West Gray Road shortly after 12:30 p.m., where several police vehicles and two ambulances were seen. Most responders had left the scene by about 2:40 p.m.
Cumberland County Sheriff Kevin Joyce confirmed investigators were called to the business and said there was no indication of foul play. He later said the incident appeared to involve a suicide attempt.
The business announced on Facebook that it was closing early Wednesday and planned to reopen Thursday. Employees at the store declined to comment on the incident.
