As Mac Dickson retired on Thursday (7/2/26), it gave me pause to recall all the fun we had doing morning shows together and how many “bloopers” we created over the years, many were not even safe for work! Sadly, not a lot got captured on tape so we’re left with memories.
TV, however, is different. TV records most everything for legal reasons, later replay or other reasons. And once it’s live, it’s done and lives forever, especially in the age of the internet.
Here is a reel of some of the funnier bloopers I have seen…there’s even a local Maine one you may not have seen that is NSFW.
The local one was not an anchor error…it was a producer error. Someone put the wrong pre-recorded break on the air. Interestingly, I was the news voice of the tv station at the time of the faux pas, as you will hear.
