Two people died Saturday, March 25, when a motor vehicle crashed into a Madawaska home at the corner of 19th Avenue and Bellevue Street.

Here’s an update from the Maine State Police:

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Detectives with the Maine State Police’s Major Crimes Unit North (MCU-N) were contacted by the Madawaska Police Department to help investigate the circumstances surrounding an incident that happened at 149 Bellevue Street in Madawaska. At approximately 8:30 pm, a white 2011 Ford Econoline Van crashed into a home killing both the driver of the van and a resident inside the house. The driver has been officially identified by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) as 44-year-old Shawn Cote of Madawaska. The deceased resident has been officially identified as 71-year-old David Morin of Madawaska. The cause and manner of death are part of the investigation. Additional information will be released when it’s appropriate to do so.
