A Flood Watch is in effect through this evening, March 17. Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible as well as localized flooding from ice jams.
The City of Augusta has closed parking spaces closest to the river at the North End of the Front Street parking lot. More info HERE!
An ice jam in the Carrabassett River in New Portland and Embden has caused some minor flooding. Officials say if you encounter water crossing the road, turn around. Don’t risk it.
