25-year-old Jose Gurley of New Hampshire, accused of seriously injuring a 4-year-old boy, has been arrested in Cornish, Maine.
Gurley has been charged with first degree assault of a 4-year-old boy, who is suffering from serious head and facial injuries.
Following an investigation, 25-year-old Jose Gurley was identified as the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued.

On January 19, 2023, Officers responded to a residence to assist with a medical emergency. The medical emergency involved a four-year-old boy who sustained apparent serious head and facial injuries. Detectives were assigned to further the investigation. In the course of the investigation, 25-year-old Jose Gurley was identified as the suspect of a First Degree Assault – Class A Felony. A warrant was applied for and granted charging Gurley with First Degree Assault. Detectives learned that Gurley had fled to the state of Maine. The Nashua Detectives coordinated with the Maine State Police and located a vehicle Gurley had been associated with at a residence in Cornish, Maine. Maine State Police applied for a search warrant of the residence and located Gurley. Gurley was arrested without incident on January 26, 2024, by the Maine State Police. Gurley is currently being held at the York County Jail in Maine, awaiting extradition back to New Hampshire.
