ORIGINAL POST: There was a fatal motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Big Apple Convenience Store on Upper Main Street in Waterville, Sunday morning, Feb. 22.
A pedestrian in the parking lot was struck and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
From the Waterville Police:
At approximately 11:20 AM on 02/22/26, members of the Waterville Police Department and Waterville Fire Department/ Rescue responded to 364 Main Street for a motor vehicle crash. The initial investigation indicates that a motor vehicle traveling east on Main Street left the roadway striking a vehicle parked at the gas pump of The Big Apple Convenience Store. Unfortunately, a pedestrian in the parking lot was struck and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Names of the individuals involved are not being released at this time, until the necessary notifications have been made to next of kin. This is still an active investigation, and the Eastbound section of Main Street will remain shut down for the foreseeable future so please try to avoid the area. Members of the Maine State Police are on scene assisting with the crash reconstruction.
