Rockland Police Department officers responded to a reported home invasion late Wednesday night, April 8, leading to the quick arrest of a South Thomaston teenager.
According to the department, officers were dispatched around 10:45pm, to a residence in Rockland following reports of a home invasion. By the time police arrived, the suspect or suspects had already fled the scene.
Investigators determined that the suspect was known to the victim and had gone to the home apparently intending to fight one of the residents. During the incident, the front door was kicked open and at least one person entered the residence.
The event has been classified as a burglary home invasion.
Officers conducted a search for the suspect and, with assistance from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, located Cory Brockman, 18, of South Thomaston. He was taken into custody without incident. Brockman was transported and booked into the Knox County Holding Facility. He faces charges of felony burglary, criminal threatening and criminal mischief.
This incident remains under active investigation.
