Rockland Police have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with multiple burglaries on Main Street, including the recovery of stolen electronics and other property.
On Monday afternoon, April 13, officers responded to a report of a recent burglary at an apartment on Main Street where several thousand dollars’ worth of electronics were stolen. Through swift investigation involving patrol officers and detectives, police identified the suspect as George Gilmore, a 40-year-old transient.
Officers located Gilmore and recovered the stolen property from the reported burglary, along with additional clothing and electronic equipment believed to be taken in other crimes. The investigation has linked Gilmore to at least two other burglaries on Main Street.
Officials also say a fourth burglary connected to this case has been solved, with all remaining stolen property returned to its owner.
Gilmore, who is currently on probation for a 2018 conviction of Elevated Aggravated Assault, was arrested on charges of Felony Burglary and Violation of Probation. Authorities say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
