UPDATE: 19-year-old Luke Stinson-Freeman of Wiscasset has been arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun before robbing her home in Wiscasset.
Stinson-Freeman also reportedly broke into a Wiscasset business and stole liquor.

This week, the Wiscasset Police Department responded to two significant incidents in the downtown area. On Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025, Wiscasset Police received a report of a burglary at Water Street Kitchen & Bar. A window on the back side of the building had been broken to gain entry. Liquor and a small amount of petty cash were taken. On Wednesday evening, November 19, 2025, officers responded to a report of an armed residential burglary, robbery, and assault on Lincoln Street. The Wiscasset Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Brunswick Police Department (K-9 Unit). A search of the area did not result in locating the suspect at that time. Investigations into both incidents continued through Wednesday night and throughout the day on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Based on the suspect description and evidence collected at the scenes, investigators were confident they had identified the suspect involved in both crimes. At approximately 1800 hours, the Wiscasset Police Department, assisted by the Maine State Police, conducted a bail check at 226 Old Sheepscot Road in Wiscasset. During the check, officers discovered evidence related to both incidents. The residence was secured, and a search warrant was applied for and granted. In the early morning hours of 11/21/2025 a search warrant was executed, and additional evidence was collected. Luke Stinson-Freeman, 19yoa, of Wiscasset, was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Wiscasset Police Department for further investigation and later taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Wiscasset Police are looking for a man who entered a woman’s home in town on Lincoln Street, displayed a gun, and told her it was a robbery.
The woman was able to escape and run to a neighbor and to call the police.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a Blue Hooded Sweatshirt or jacket with tan light-colored pants. He was wearing a black mask which at one point was pulled down allowing the victim to see his face. Suspect was described as being clean-shaven with acne.

Shortly after 7pm on Wednesday 11/19/25 a male subject knocked on a door of a Lincoln Street residence and asked a female if he could use her phone. The resident turned to get her phone and male subject walked inside and displayed a firearm and told her this was a robbery. Female was able to escape and run to a neighbor and called police. The residence was searched, and a K-9 track was started but was unsuccessful… At this time Law Enforcement considers this an isolated incident and there is no known active threat to the public. Wiscasset Police is also investigating a Burglary to a downtown business that took place late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning involving the theft of a large amount of hard liquor. It is unknown at this time if both incidents are related. If you live in the downtown/Federal Street area and your home and/or business have video capabilities we ask that you review your system for anything that may assist us in identifying the suspect(s). In the meantime, we ask that you lock your homes and vehicles and be aware of your surroundings and report anything suspicious.
