The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a serious traffic crash in Newburgh. The crash involves a tractor-trailer truck and a sports passenger car.

At 1155 hours, the Penobscot Regional Communication Center received several reports of a serious head-on collision on Route 69 in Newburgh. The road will be blocked off for several hours as emergency personnel investigate the crash, and we ask motorists to find alternate routes of travel. The road is blocked between Route 202 and the North Road. Details about those involved are not going to be released as deputies work diligently with the family. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no other details will be shared at this time.
