A tanker truck carrying water was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 this afternoon, June 27, when it overturned in the median near mile marker 198 in Old Town.
The driver, 58-year-old Robert Pierce of Westbrook, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Maine State Police say troopers arrived quickly and rendered medical aid. Old Town Fire & Rescue transported Pierce to Eastern Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two lanes of traffic were closed, as vehicles moved through the area using the breakdown lane as crews continued their work.
The investigation is ongoing, but speed does appear to be a factor in the crash.
