Thank you for your support of MaineGeneral Health’s annual “Day of Hope,” that took place, Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Augusta Civic Center.
More than 1,000 people came together to celebrate area cancer survivors and fighters and their caregivers.
“Walk for Hope” Marshals were cancer survivors Andy Goodspeed and Crystal Leavitt. The two were featured at the inspirational opening ceremony before attendees began the 1.8-mile Walk for Hope.
So far, $202,700 has come in through pledges and donations. All proceeds stay local to support the expansion of the cancer center.
In addition to the opening ceremony and walk, the event featured health screenings and education, a healthy cooking demonstration, a Kid Zone and other activities.
You can still donate to local cancer care in the Kennebec Valley HERE!
