The woman shot by police in Topsham on Monday has been identified. Kourtney Sherwood, 37, of Brunswick has been identified as the woman shot by a police officer yesterday afternoon, Feb. 28.
The incident occurred near the Merrymeeting Bridge in Topsham on Route 196. She was critically injured and taken Maine Medical Center in Portland.
According to WGME, police say she was reportedly making homicidal and suicidal statements.
