Young Skier Injured at Black Mountain

A 12-year-old skier was hospitalized after an injury on the Allagash Trail at Black Mountain in Rumford, Sunday morning, March 8.

Reports say the boy lost control after hitting some mud or a rock and came out of their skis and went into the woods at a high rate of speed.

After being transported to Rumford Hospital, he was later brought to Maine Medical Center in Portland by a medical helicopter.
