A 14-year-old Sanford girl has been charged in connection with a shooting in Lebanon early Saturday.
The York County Sheriff’s Office said a man called for help around 2 a.m. after someone in another vehicle fired several shots at his car on Route 202. One bullet struck the driver’s side door, while others hit the tires, forcing the vehicle to stop. The driver was not injured.
According to a report at WMTW TV, Zachary Shaw, 19, of Sanford, was arrested around 4:40 a.m. Saturday and charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief. Authorities said they recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
On Monday, deputies announced that the 14-year-old girl also faces a reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon charge. She was taken to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland. Her name was not released because she is a juvenile.
Shaw was scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford. Authorities said his charges could be upgraded.
