Bath Iron Works is selling a pair of residential structures, each for a buck. Maybe you can even haggle for a lower price! Good luck!

Among the properties being put up for sale is the historic Deering House at 606 Washington St. in Bath.

The home dates back to 1900 and was once owned by Gardner G. Deering, who ran the Deering & Donnell shipyard along Washington Street. The former shipyard was located near the site of what is now the Maine Maritime Museum.

Bath property records list the 4,216-square-foot home’s assessed value at roughly $462,000. Bath Iron Works purchased the property in 2023 for $1.9 million.

Here’s the posting at the General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Facebook Page:

I say, buy it for a buck and sell it for a lot more. Once you figure out the price to move the structure, include that in your asking price and pay for it. Everything else is profit, presumably. You’re welcome!
