A 20-year old and a 1-year old died in a a two-vehicle crash on Route 108, the Canton Road, in Livermore yesterday afternoon, June 24.

The crash is under investigation.

From the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office:

On Monday, June 24, 2024, at 2:01 pm the Androscoggin County Regional Communications Center received notification of a two-vehicle crash on Route 108 (Canton Road) in Livermore near the intersection of Church Street. Multiple fire and EMS agencies responded along with deputies from the sheriff’s office. The preliminary investigation shows that Joshua Charette, age 31, of Rangeley was traveling east on Canton Road operating a green 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The second vehicle was a red 2014 Mercedes 4 door being driven by Jared Sampson, age 23, of Norway. Sampson was driving west on Canton Road. Preliminary evidence shows that Sampson crossed the center line and collided with Charette’s vehicle in the eastbound lane.

Charette and a juvenile in his vehicle were both transported to Central Maine Medical Center. Sampson and two children who were in car seats in the back seat of his vehicle were also transported to Central Maine Medical Center. All sustained serious injuries.

The front passenger in Sampson’s vehicle, Harley Lausier, age 20, and a 1 ½ year old female who was in a car seat in the rear passenger side, both died at the scene.
