New Maine license plates, with a pine tree instead of a chickadee, will cost you if you want to retain your plate number combination.
The cost will be $25.00, according to Secretary of State Shenna Bellows. The fee will cover the cost of special orders in terms of the manufacturing and distribution process.
The new design is coming next year on May 1.
Maine is coming out with new license plates and if you want to keep the same numbers or letters from your old chickadee plates, you’ll have to pay a fee.
