The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says 13 storage units and 6 motor vehicles in Bingham were broken into, June 20-21.
According to the department’s Facebook page:
Several Deputies responded to these incidents. Deputy Jack LePage received information that led to the identity of 6 juveniles allegedly involved with these burglaries. The juveniles range in age from 10–15 years old. Items stolen were Nike Air Jordan sneakers, wallets, keys, and a 9mm Glock handgun. Through his investigation, Deputy LePage was able to recover the stolen property.
Maine Statutes passed by the Legislature preclude charging 2 of the juveniles involved because they are under the age of 12.
The cases will be forwarded to the Juvenile Community Corrections Officer and the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.
