50-year-old Harrison Coleman of Lewiston is accused of kidnapping a 30-year-old woman, who he threatened to kill if she didn’t steal for him.
According to Lewiston Police, Coleman allegedly forced the victim into a vehicle and brought her to the Auburn Walmart against her will and reportedly said that if she didn’t steal specific items he would kill her.
Officials say, that once in the store the victim approached Walmart employees, who then contacted an officer who was working a security detail.
Coleman is charged with kidnapping, domestic violence assault, and domestic violence criminal threatening.

On October 29th, around 1:30 p.m., an Auburn Police officer working a security detail at Walmart Super Store was approached by a store employee who reported that a female was inside the store claiming she had been threatened. The officer quickly contacted the 30-year-old female, who reported that she had been forced into a vehicle and brought to the store against her will. The woman told the officer that the male suspect, an ex-boyfriend, had threatened her if she did not steal from the store for him. Additional officers responded to assist with the investigation. The male suspect, later identified as 50-year-old Harrison Coleman of Lewiston, was located waiting in a vehicle parked outside the store. The preliminary investigation indicates that Coleman had physically assaulted the victim, forced her into his vehicle, and driven her to Walmart. Once at the store, Coleman allegedly instructed the victim to steal specific items and threatened to kill her if she did not comply. The victim was able to approach Walmart employees inside the store, who quickly contacted the on-duty officer stationed in the parking lot. Officers were able to corroborate the victim’s account through an additional witness.
