Lewiston Police arrested a 64-year-old man Tuesday evening, June 24, after he allegedly struck two people with a shovel during an altercation on Bartlett Street.
According to the Lewiston Police Department, officers responded to 131 Bartlett Street at approximately 7:14pm, following a report of an assault involving a shovel. Upon arrival, they located two injured individuals.
An investigation determined that Michael Andrei struck both victims with the shovel following a dispute. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Andrei was taken into custody and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Assault.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released the names or ages of the victims.
