Just days after being released on $10,000 bail, a Mattawamkeag man accused of striking a family of four while allegedly driving under the influence has been arrested again.
Lincoln Police say 57-year-old Carl Hartley was taken into custody Sunday after officers responded to reports of a pickup truck being driven erratically on Lee Road. Investigators say Hartley led police on a brief pursuit before crashing into the driver’s side of a cruiser in a parking lot. The officer was briefly trapped inside but was not hurt.
A breath test found no alcohol in Hartley’s system, but police arrested him on suspicion of drug-impaired driving after a drug recognition evaluation. A blood sample was collected, and toxicology results are pending.
Hartley now faces multiple charges, including criminal OUI, aggravated criminal mischief, refusing to stop for law enforcement, driving to endanger, and violating conditions of release.
