The Mexico Police Department last August was disbanded. Yesterday, April 1, resident of the western Maine town voted, 234-88, against reinstating the department.
Local police enforcement will be covered by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
Reportedly, the cost of maintaining a local police force would cost citizens nearly one million dollars annually.
