The 2024 “Parade of Lights” returns to Waterville Saturday, Nov. 30, starting at 6 pm, sponsored by the Children’s Discovery Museum.
Floats will assemble along College Avenue, travel down to Main Street, stopping at Castonguay Square for the lighting of the giant spruce, and Santa’s arrival at Kringleville.
From the City of Waterville:
Main Street from PO Square to Spring Street will be closed from 3 PM until approximately 8PM. There will be no parking allowed on the street during this time. This means if you are at the matinee at the Opera House you will need to move your vehicle after the matinee and before the parade. Due to the bridge construction the parade line up will be back on College Avenue this year. The entrance to the parade line up will be at Oak Street and College Avenue. College Avenue Southbound will be reduced to one lane during this time and avoiding the area would be best unless you are coming for the parade. Line-up will start at 4 PM. The parade will proceed down Lower Main Street, which will be the primary viewing area. Santa will be lighting the Christmas Tree at Castonguay Square. The parade will disperse at Spring Street and Main Street.
